Rice kheer ; How to make rice kheer

Ingredients for kheer


Milk                                 1.5 ltr

Small grain rice                150 gm

Sugar                                 150 gm

Cashew ( kaju)                 8 to 10 pcs

Chopped pistachio           5

 Cardamon                        4

Saffron                             2 pinch

Almond                            4

how to make rice kheer

Crush the cashew nuts keep it aside. Crush the cardamon into powder ( you may also use elaichi powder). Take the green shell off. Turn on the heat and put the milk pan on the heat let the milk boil stir it and lower the heat. Boil the milk on the low heat till it becomes half of its original quantity. Keep stirring in between add washed rice stir it. Increase the heat to medium and let it boil . Lower the heat and keep stirring add sugar , crushed cardamon powder stir it.

Cook it on low heat for another 10 minutes now the rice is half cooked. Add crushed cashew nuts and stir it . Add chopped almonds and stir it. Increase the heat and stir continuausly the milk lower the heat again and cook it for another 2-3 minutes. Increase the heat and boil it for 2 minutes , keep stirring lower the heat. Turn off the heat. Add saffron and leave it for 20 minutes. Now it is ready to serve.

For serving' 

Garnish with chopped pista and saffron serve it.
