Dal Makhani Ingredients
Whole black gram 100 gram soaked for 7-8 hours
split bengal gram(chana dal) 50 gram soaked in 7-8 hours
Chopped ginger 2inch
Chopped green chilli 2
Finally chopped onion 2
Grated garlic 9 to 11
Grated ginger 2 inch
Tomato puree 100 gram (1cup)
Butter/ ghee 50 gram
Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder 1/2 tbsp
salt to taste according
Dal makhani Recipe
Take a pressure cooked pan. Add soaked urad dal and chana dal. Add 1.5 glass of water. Add 1/2 tbsp salt and mix it. Close the lid. Turn on the flame and cook it for 5 whistle on high flame . After 5 whistle turn off the flame and let cooker cool down. Once the cooker cool down open the lid . Mash it with ladle.
Turn on the flame and heated pan. Once the pan is heated reduce the flame to low medium . Add butter and let it melt. Add grated garlic and ginger. Fry it for a minute. Add chopped onion. Fry it for 3-4 minutes on medium flame. Once the onion becomes golden brown , reduce the flame to low. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder mix it and cook it for a few seconds. Add tomato puree mix it and cook it for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.
Add boiled dal along with water mix it and cook it for 2 minutes on medium flame, keep stirring . Add 1 glass of water and stir it. Cover the pan and cook it for 5-7 minutes on low medium flame, open the lid and stir it. Add 1 tbsp cream and mix it . Add 1 tbsp cream again and mix it. Add salt remember we had already added salt before boiling the dal.
Add garam masala powder, add green chilli and ginger mix it. Cover the pan and cook it for 2-3 minutes on low medium flame. Open the lid and stir it again . Add little butter, turn off the flame gently mix it. Dal makhani is reday.
Serving
Take quit in a bowl 1 small kadhai small handle. Whisk the remaing cream. Pour it on dal makhani . Add little chopped ginger and green chilli ; decorate with coriander leaves. Resturant style dal makhani is ready to serve.
