Suji Halwa Recipe ; Suji Ka Halwa


Semolina (suji)      1/2 cup (100 gm)
Ghee                      1/2 cup (100 gm)
Sugar                     1/2 cup (100 gm)
Raisins                  1 tbsp
Cashew                 8-2 cup
Almonds               8-10
Green cardamon    4


Start with roasting the semolina (suji) for making the halwa. Heat a pan and add some ghee 1/2 cup to it. Keep some for later use allow the ghee to melt. add semolina 1/2 cup to it. Thickly textured semolina remind good for making the halwa. Stir constantly and roast the semolina until it gets golden. Brown in color. Keep the flame medium. 

Semolina has turned golden brown and turned frogrant. semolina is roasted well, Now we will add water to it . We have taken 1/2 cup semolina sowe will add 1.5 cups of water. Followed by 1/2 cup of sugar. Cook the semolina for 2-3 minutes on low flame so that it puffs up. In the mean while cut the dry fruits. 

We have taken 8 to 10 cashews and almonds, each chop then finely. Also we have 4 green cardamons, peel and make powder. Semolina has puffed up, stir  it up nicely. Now add same dry fruits keep same cashews and almonds for later use. Also add 1 tbsp raisins , cardamon and mix everything really well.

Cook the halwa a little more until it gets dense. Halwa has ready. Transfer it to a plate and turn off the flame. Garnish with some dry fruits. Pour another 2 tbsp of ghee over the halwa. ghee floating on the surface of halwa taste is really easy.

Just keep note of few things . Keep the flame medium while roasting the semolina stir the semolina constantly while roastimg it you will be able to make perfect halwa.
