Pav Bhaji Recipe ; bhaji pav recipe


Potato(peeled)               3

Green peas                    3/4cup

Green chilli                   2

Onion                            1

Tomato                          3

Ginger garlic paste             1tbsp

Coriander leaves                 1/3cup

Turmeric powder               1/2tbsp

Red chilli powder(kashmiri)    1.5tbsp

Pav bhaji masala                      1.5tbsp

Garam masala powder             1/2tbsp

Butter                                       4tbsp

Food colour(optional)             1pinch

Dry fenugreek leaves(kasuri methi)  1pinch

Pav bread


Potato peeled and washed 3, green peas 3/4cup. Put potato and green peas in pressure cooker. 1/2 cup of water close the lid and boil it for 4-5 whistles on medium flame.Turn off the flame and let it cool down. Take it out in a bowl.Mash it. 

Turn on the flame and heat a pan. Add butter 2 tbsp let it melt and add green chilli and onions fry it for 2-3 minutes on medium flame add ginger garlic paste fry it for 1/2 minute. Add capsicum fry it for a minute on medium flame. 

Add turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder and mix it well. Add tomato and little amaunt of salt cook it until the tomato turn completely soft ( you may cover the pan). Add pinch of food color, mix it well and add mashed potato and green peas. mix it. Add pav bhaji masala (1.5 tbsp) Add salt ( Remember we have already added salt earliar) mix it.

Add water and mash it. you may mash it using of bowl. Add kasuri methi. Cook it for 8-10 minutes on low medium flame, coriander leaves, water, if needed. Cook it for 2 minutes on low flame. (keep mashing) add garam masala powder and mix it add butter.

Remove the pan and heat a tawa add butter, coriander leaves place pav bread on it. Toast it for few seconds take it out. 

Add little butter on tawa again add red chilly powder ,add bhaji cook it on high flame for a minutes. Sprinkle little coriander leaves turn off the flame. Take it out in a serving plate with onion and lemon. Ready to serve.
