How to make Shahi Tukda ; Recipe for shahi tukda


Milk                       2 cup(500ml)

Sugar                      1/2 cup

Bread slices            2

Cardamon slices     1/3 tbsp

Ghee                        100 gm

Dry nuts                   1/3 cup ( chopped)


Turn on the flame and heat the pan. Add milk increase the flame to high and let the milk boil. Once the milk starts boiling, reduce the flame to low boil the milk till it has reduced to half of its original quantity. Keep stirring add sugar add dry nuts and keep stirring add cardamon powder. Mix it well . Keep stirring till it becomes thick turn off the flame. 

Once the desired consistency in achieved turn on the flame and add ghee in a pan. Put bread slices in hot ghee. Fry it till it turns crispy. Deep fry the breads to make it crispy. Fry it till it becomes light golden brown. Take it out and keep it aside fry the remaining slices  like this.

Heat a pan and add sugar. Add 1/4 cup of water and let it boil keep stiring . Cook the syrup for 2 minutes on low flame. Turn off the flame add fried bread slices in the chashni ( sugar syrup). Flip the slices to allow bread to absorb the sugar syrup properly. Pour the rabdi on a serving plate. Place 2 bread slices over it. Add 1 more layer of  Rabdi and 1 bread slice on top garnish it with finely chopped dry nuts. Ready to serve.
