Healthy breakfast in India ; Oats Chilla recipe

Ingredients


Oats  (Plain)                      1/2 cup

Gram flour (Besan)          1/3 cup

Onion (Chopped)             1

Green chilli (Chopped)     2

Tomato (Chopped)            1

Coriander leaves                1/4 cup

Turmeric powder               1/3 tbsp

Red chilli powder             1/3 tbsp

Cumin powder                1/3 tbsp

Lemon juice                   1 tbsp

Cooking oil                    4 tbsp

Salt to taste


Process


Put the oats in a mixing bowl 1/2 cup and add equal amounts of water 1/2 cup soak it for 15 minutes. Cover the bowl after 15 minute mix it. Once add onion, tomato, green chilli and coriander leaves. Add 1/3 cup of gram flour ( Brsan) add turmeric powder and chilli powder, cumin powder and salt mix it well. Add water keep the consistancy of the batter to sami thick. (Do not make batter very thin). Add 1 tbsp of lemon juice mix it well. Batter is ready.


Turn on the flame and heat a tawa. Grease the tawa with oil. mix the batter before use ( keep the flame on low). Add batter on tawa.  Gently spread it increase the flame to medium apply oil on edges and top cook it for 1/2 minute on medium flame . 

Flip it apply oil on other side. Cook it till it turns golden brown from both the side ( It takes approx 6-8 minutes to cook keep flipping in between. Once it cooked take it out repeat the process to cook remaining chillas. Oats chilla is ready. Serve hot with green chuteny and ketchup.
